Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw, who last year served the first of two 30-day jail sentences for an alleged parole violation, reported to the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail Authority on February 15, 2009, as previously arranged, to complete the remainder of his 60-day jail sentence imposed by the Juvenile Court in Tazewell County, VA.
In a statement released by the team on behalf of Charles Stacy, the attorney for Bradshaw, “The Juvenile Court had allowed Mr. Bradshaw to serve this sentence in two separate intervals to allow him to maintain his current employment capacity with the New York Giants.
"Upon completion of this sentence Mr. Bradshaw will have satisfied all of his obligations to the Juvenile Court of Tazewell County as it relates to his prior misdemeanor conviction as a juvenile.
"Mr. Bradshaw is grateful for the cooperation of the Tazewell County Juvenile Court System and the New York Giants organization in the disposition of this matter and is looking forward to resuming his training for the 2009 season."
It was initially thought that Bradshaw would complete his sentence after the conclusion of the Giants’ spring mini camps. By reporting earlier, he will be available to participate in the team’s off-season conditioning workouts, which begin on March 16 and will not have to worry about any further off-field distractions.
