Well for those of you who followed the tea leaves and figured that DT Chris Canty and LB Michael Boley would be in the lineup this week, go ahead and pat yourselves on the back.
Canty, who was last in the lineup in Week 1’s win against Washington, and Boley, who last played against Kansas City, are expected to see a limited number of snaps in their first week back from their respective injuries
There was one surprise with the Giants inactive report. LB Bryan Kehl, who started out well on special teams but whose play dropped off the last few weeks, was one of the players who isn’t dressing for the Giants.
The rest of the inactives for the Giants include receivers Ramses Barden and Sinorice Moss; CB Aaron Ross (hamstring); RB Gartrell Johnson; OL Adam Koets and Guy Whimper; and DE Dave Tollefson.
Lastly, the Giants announced that Aaron Rouse will start at free safety in place of CC Brown. Michael Johnson will start at strong safety. And Boley will start at weak side linebacker for Chase Blackburn.
San Diego’s inactives include starting inside linebacker Kevin Burnett; C Nick Hardwick (ankle); CB Dante Hughes; LB Tim Dobbins; G Tyronne Green; WR Buster Davis; and DE/DT Vaughn Martin. QB Charlie Whitehurst is the third quarterback.
