Which rules do you think the competition committee will address this year? Which rules (or lack thereof) do you believe would best help the game moving forward. Thanks! – Peter M.
Personally I think that the Competition Committee is pretty happy with the game as it is and that there will be few rules changes. The one area of focus will continue to be player safety and behavior and I think that there may be a further tightening of the rules regarding helmet contact by defensive and offensive players.
There also continues to be much too much demonstrating after the most mundane plays. The new rules on kick-offs appear to be working well with little impact on the game. There is always talk by the fans regarding a change to the Yardage for a DPI penalty, but I doubt that will happen.
I'll turn the question around and ask which rules the readers think should be addressed.
