Here’s your pre-practice injury report. The list is getting smaller!!
• LB Michael Boley (knee)
• RB Ahmad Bradshaw (foot)
• DT Chris Canty (calf)
• WR Mario Manningham (back)
• Eli Manning (foot)
• Rich Seubert (shoulder)
• Danny Ware (elbow)
• RT Kareem McKenzie (groin)
• CB Aaron Ross (hamstring)
Of these, Boley is definitely not going to work this week as he still has another two weeks from his originally projected four weeks following surgery.
Head coach Tom Coughlin said on Monday that Canty probably wouldn’t’ be given the green light to work this week, though Canty said that he was feeling much better since having a surgical procedure.
My guess is McKenzie won’t practice. When Coughlin mentioned there was some bleeding in the big offensive lineman’s groin area, that didn’t sound too promising.
Ross tried to do some running but the medical people held him back. I’d like to take a guess on this one and say that he’ll sit out today, but given the problems the Giants had in their secondary last week, I think it’s only natural to wonder if perhaps they might see if Ross is ready to do some work this week.
I think Manningham will probably try to give it a go. Same goes for Manning, who has been sharing snaps with David Carr as the team continues to "manage" his foot injury, and Seubert.
Ware will also probably go.
These are my guesses. We’ll be hearing from Coughlin in a little bit with the official word.
While I also have your attention, this morning I tweeted that the Giants signed DT Dwayne Hendricks. They placed Anthony Bryant on the injured list.
UPDATE: Just got back in from practice. McKenzie was set to go, although Coughlin said he'd probably be liited. Ditto for Manningham and Manning, the latter of whom continues to have his foot injury managed. Canty, Ross and Boley remain out.
